We took the water taxi from the cruise ship to Princess Cays- their private island. Rumor has it that Princess cruise ships won’t be going there anymore after November. They will all go to Carnivals private island. 🤔
The weather was perfect and the water so clear and beautiful. We even saw fish swim by us when we were in the water 🐠

Happy At Sea day!
Today was our very first "transit" meeting because we are officially those people who refuse to leave the ship. We’ve done side-by-side cruises before, but we’ve finally graduated to a full back-to-back. ⚓️🚢

To celebrate this milestone of luxury, we are spending the morning doing laundry. 🧺

Rumor has it the weather next week might get a little rocky, which is perfect timing because I am almost done crocheting a sweater for our next trip. If the waves get bad enough, the extra layers will just serve as a handmade life jacket. 🚢😬🧶

San Juan, 🇵🇷 Puerto Rico
We disembarked the ship and straight across from the pier is a Walgreens. The place is packed.. we got some water to take back on board.

Wandered to Barrachina’s, where it is said that the Pina Colada was invented. The line was so long that we decided to do a to-go beverage. Truly the best Pina Colada that I have ever had! 🍍
We walked along the blue cobblestone streets and found ourselves at the Patrimonio Mundial- a world heritage national historic site.
After a brief rest, wandered to the Drunken Cookie. Where you get shots to inject into your cookie!! We’re doing a taste test later today.. stay tuned!
The cobblestone streets are the ballast from the Spanish galleons.. they have been worn to the blue patina color.
Last stop was a poet shop. The paintings were just magnificent and great poetry..
definitely want to come back. Last time we wandered to the El Morro fortress that once protected the city from pirates and invaders. Too hit to walk that far this time of year.. at sea days now till we return to Port Canaveral for our next cruise! We will be staying on this ship for the back-to-back 🚢⚓️🌍
Oh, and happy birthday Jim!

Amber Cove cruise port, Dominican Republic. It’s the port used to get to nearby Puerto Plata. The port is named after the abundance of amber deposits . Fossilized tree resin that sometimes contains prehistoric insects and plants. Look at the picture of a replica piece that has a lizard frozen forever in amber. It’s a world famous piece!

Puerto Plata was discovered by Christopher Columbus. Puerto Plata is a historic coastal resort city on the northern shore of the Dominican Republic, nicknamed the "Bride of the Atlantic"

beautiful scenery and the water is just so stunning!

Cozumel, Mexico today. It was 🥵 hot. Wandered over to the Coral Reef Monument, somehow we missed it the last couple times we have been here.

The Coral Reefs Monument is a striking waterfront sculpture and fountain in San Miguel de Cozumel. It celebrates the island's world-famous scuba diving and rich marine ecosystems with detailed figures of divers and sea life set against the backdrop of the Caribbean Sea.

Workers were removing some sargassum from the water. Interesting!

Sargassum is a free-floating brown macroalgae (seaweed) that forms massive golden mats in the ocean. While vital for marine life in the open water, massive amounts frequently wash ashore in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and Florida, creating major coastal, ecological, and economic challenges.

I wandered alone today since Jim wasn’t up to wandering around. 🚢⚓️😷 🇲🇽
