nothing beats a cozy car camp after a sunset hike, especially when a steak dinner is involved 🏕️✨

📍Devil’s Head Campground (or any of the sites along Rampart Range Rd) is the perfect place to spend the night after a gorgeous evening hike to Devil’s Head Lookout!

This hike is a 3-mile out-and-back with 143 stairs up to the fire lookout at the top. Rated moderate on AllTrails, but it’s definitely steep so be prepared 🥾

At only 90 mins from Denver, this spot makes for a perfect overnight getaway from the city.

Always remember to Leave No Trace and leave the outdoors better than you found it! 🌲🫶

there’s a groovy new Southwestern coffee-to-cocktail concept in Denver that deserves a spot on your must-try list!

📍Neon Cowboy () is the newest café to take over the corner spot at 300 S Logan St. It’s fun & spacious, with password-protected WiFi and decent outlet availability at tables along the walls 👩‍💻

The menu is more expansive than what you’d find at a typical coffee shop, including a food menu and a full bar. I enjoyed an iced latte with the housemade lavender syrup (half sweet!) and their avocado tartine and would order both again ☕️

My only word of warning for anyone looking to work here is that the noise level was pretty high! Bring your headphones and you should be good to go.

Lost Coffee () is always a good idea, especially if you make it far enough south to visit their Backcountry location in Highlands Ranch!

You’ll be rewarded with tons of table space, games, and a gorgeous patio overlooking a pond (who doesn’t love a water feature, right?) ☕️☀️

All of Lost Coffee’s beans are ethically sourced and small-batch roasted in Littleton, so each cup is both delicious AND socially responsible. Pair that with one of their housemade syrups, and you’re guaranteed a sip that will brighten your day!

With tons of tables across multiple rooms and good outlet availability, this spot would be a great place to get some work done. I didn’t test out the WiFi this time, but will update this review when I do 👩‍💻

Bad Rabbit Caravan () is a woman-owned mobile bar & coffee cart that just started serving their delicious café drinks at Industry RiNo Station on weekdays from 8 AM to 2 PM ☕️

With a menu full of delicious house made syrups and cold foams, there’s no shortage of fun flavors to choose from. We tried the ube cloud over cold brew, carrot cake latte, and a vanilla bean & orange zest matcha, and I was genuinely impressed with all of them. I’m usually a half-sweet girlie, but with the quality of these syrups, I didn’t mind ordering them as-is!

Re: workability, you can stay and work from a variety of indoor + outdoor seating around the Industry’s lobby area. There’s password protected WiFi and good outlet availability. While the coffee bar is gorgeous, the rest of the seating leans more industrial than typical cozy-coffee-shop, but definitely wfh-friendly 👩‍💻

Last week’s afternoon adventure to Paint Mines was the perfect reminder of why I love living in Colorado so much ✨

The otherworldly colors & formations here are incredible, and the trails are easy to get around! Park in the overlook lot for the shortest walk to the formations. Heads up that the park itself is on the smaller side (you can walk through all of the Paint Mines in ~40 mins), so if you want to get more adventure out of the drive time from Denver, I’d recommend heading into Colorado Springs before or after to check out Garden of the Gods / Manitou Springs.

Please remember to leave no trace and follow the signage - I saw several visitors climbing on top of formations that were clearly marked as fragile 😒

If you’re feeling burnt out, uninspired, or just generally down, this is your reminder to get outside (ideally to someplace you’ve never been)! As someone who didn’t grow up anywhere near mountains or parks like these, I’ll never get over Denver’s insane proximity to nature 🫶
