Yesterday’s class at Wildwood Montessori School was such a blast. After the holiday break, everyone came back ready to learn and we jumped right into ukulele and rhythm sticks. The whole group did an amazing job and brought so much energy to the room.

Teaching at Wildwood is truly a highlight of my week. These students make every class fun, creative, and memorable.

If you haven’t heard about Wildwood Montessori, you should absolutely check them out. It’s a wonderful school doing great things for kids.

Today was the last day of the year at the co-op, and it was their Christmas performance!
It wasn’t just my group, lots of classes had something to share, and the talent and support in that room were incredible. And honestly, it’s not just today. Every week I get to see everyone working together to create something wonderful for kids of all ages. The teamwork, the encouragement, and the heart behind it all really stand out.

I’m proud and grateful to be part of this community, and I can’t wait for the new year!

Holiday Hours Announcement

I wanted to give everyone plenty of notice as we head into a busy time of year. Making the Band – Sedalia will be closed on the following dates for the holidays:

December:
• Wednesday, December 24 – Christmas Eve
• Thursday, December 25 – Christmas Day
• Friday, December 26 – Christmas
• Wednesday, December 31 – New Year’s Eve

January:
• Thursday, January 1 – New Year’s Day
• Friday, January 2 – New Year’s
• Saturday, January 3 – New Year’s

Lessons and groups will resume on the next scheduled day following these closures.
Thank you all for planning ahead and for being such a great part of this community. I appreciate each of you and hope you have a safe and meaningful holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving from Making the Band!

Wishing everyone a day filled with family, good food, and a little bit of music in the background. I’m grateful for every student and every parent who’s been a part of this program. Getting to teach these kids and adults — and watching them grow week after week, has honestly been one of the best parts of my year.

Thank you for the support, the energy, and the trust you give me with your kids and with this whole journey. Enjoy the holiday, and I can’t wait to get back to making music with all of you soon.

Schedule Update for Thanksgiving Week!

All lessons, groups, and band practices on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 are canceled in observance of Thanksgiving.

I will be in session as normal on Saturday, November 29.

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend with family and friends. We’ll pick things back up at your next scheduled time!

Friday Night — Week 2

Last night we locked in our first original song and started making it even better. We also tossed around some cover ideas and tried out a few new parts. Overall, it was a great second practice — everyone really showed up and got after it.

Week 2 of Wednesday Night Band was awesome!
We missed a few people last night and can’t wait to see you next week. The entire power went out halfway through, but everyone kept playing and we still finished the whole song in the dark.

Super proud of this group — the energy and focus are unreal already.
