Officially three years into being a working mom after seven years at home and I can honestly say I’m beyond grateful for both seasons. 🫧 Staying home with my babies was such a gift and now that they’re all in school, I don’t feel like I’m missing those moments the same way I once feared I would.

This chapter feels different in the best way. I get to work, contribute, and still be fully present for my family. I’m especially thankful for a job that gives me flexibility and fits our busy life so well.

It’s also given me space to nurture the parts of me outside of motherhood, like my love for reading, my passion for writing and the dream I quietly carry of one day becoming a published author.

Growth looks different in every season. Right now, it feels purposeful and full. 🤍

Together, we’ve been girls, teenagers, almost-adults, and now women who know how complicated life really is.

We’ve talked through crushes and heartbreaks, relationships and babies, family wounds and growing pains. We’ve changed, healed, outgrown old versions of ourselves, and somehow never outgrown each other.

There’s something sacred about having a person who remembers who you were at 15 and still chooses who you are now. Someone who has seen your joy, your mess, your becoming… and stayed.

Life gets layered. The world feels heavier some seasons than others. But having one steady soul beside you through almost two decades of it all? That’s a gift.

Some friendships are chapters.
Ours has been the whole book so far. 🤍

Life is strange in the most humbling way. One day you’re a child staring out a window like this, wondering what the world will feel like when you’re grown. Then you’re a teenager certain you’ve figured it out. And somehow, without permission, you wake up raising children of your own, realizing your parents were just people navigating their first time at life too.

The older I get, the more I see how nothing is simple. Relationships aren’t straight lines; they’re layered with history, hurt, forgiveness, love, pride and misunderstanding. You start to look back on old versions of yourself with softer eyes. You understand things you once resented. You grieve things you didn’t know you’d miss.

Some days feel golden, full of gratitude, laughter and the kind of peace you wish you could bottle. Other days feel heavy in a way that’s hard to explain, like carrying invisible weight no one else can see. And both are real. Both are part of this strange, nuanced, beautifully complicated life.

Maybe that’s what growing up really is. Learning to hold joy and sorrow in the same hands… and still choosing to look out the window and believe there’s something beautiful ahead. 💐

I don’t think people realize just how hard it is for millennials of a certain age to refrain from posting song lyrics as cryptic emotional statuses 😅
