Donna Michaels addresses Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow’s mischarcterizations of her Planning and Zoning Appointment.
Residents of the Verde Valley deserve fair and transparent appointments, decision-making from their elected officials, and Planning and Zoning. Leaving someone in a P&Z appointment for 25 years is not fair or balanced, especially when it is self-serving. Supervisor Michaels appointed new P&Z officials; these are unpaid volunteer positions.

Did you know Yavapai County was one of the few counties that did not have a county manager when Donna Michaels took office?

Donna Michaels took the initiative to update Yavapai County by implementing a County Manager position upon assuming office.

The national standard for county managers typically involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the county government, implementing policies set by elected officials, managing budgets, and serving as a liaison between the county government and the community. County managers are responsible for ensuring efficient and effective delivery of public services to residents while upholding transparency and accountability in government operations.

Yavapai County was lagging behind because it lacked a County Manager, a position that is considered the national standard for effective county administration. Lacking a county manager allowed good old boy deals to flourish in Yavapai County.
