UPDATE: Chief Cowan says the road is open again, and power should be back on soon.

A powerline is down crossing over Highway 83 at Redwood and Highway 83. Please divert your traffic to Whitetail at the grocery store around to Morrell Creek, and out to Redwood.

"After nearly two years of effort, on October 21, the Planning Committee of the Swan Valley Community Council will formally submit the draft Neighborhood Plan, including the Existing Conditions Report and proposed Future Land Use Map, to our Community Council," co-chairs of the Swan Valley Planning Committee in Condon told the Pathfinder.

Hey Greenough, heads up! You may see smoke in the area today.

🔥PLANNED PILE BURN - Clearwater Junction, MT 🔥

The DNRC Clearwater Unit plans to conduct pile burning today, Oct. 17, on state trust lands near Lost Prairie Road. These landing piles were generated from timber harvest on 74 acres of the Lost Elbow Timber Sale.

💨Smoke may visible during and after burning operations from Highways 83 and 200 in the vicinity of Clearwater Junction. All burning is coordinated with the Montana Department of Environmental Quality and the Montana/Idaho Airshed Group to reduce smoke impacts. Please do not call 911.

🚒Crews will monitor piles during and after ignition to ensure they remain contained.

Additional pile burns are planned through December 2025 in Seeley Lake, Placid Lake, Salmon Lake, Clearwater Junction, Woodworth, Ovando, Greenough, and Lincoln-areas.
