🔥May 3 Prescribed Fire Operations 🔥

📌 Seeley Lake Ranger District: Firefighters will burn up to 38 acres in the Horseshoe West project area, 4 miles South of Seeley Lake. Minimal smoke impacts are anticipated; however, smoke may be visible from Highway 83 in the Seeley Lake area.

🔥 RX fire updates from The Nature Conservancy and the Seeley Lake Ranger District 🔥

∙ Ranger District: aiming to complete burning a small unit (about 40 acres) in the Horseshoe Hills area.

∙ TNC: third burn in the Greenough area southeast of the Blackfoot River on their Baldy Mountain Forest Reserve (T14N R14W section 34) on May 2. This burn is 54-acres prescribed fire and is adjacent to the 13 and 67 acre burns form the days before. The burn part of the Blackfoot Valley TREX (prescribed fire training exchange). The burn is dependent on fuel and weather conditions on site. Ignitions are planned to begin after 11 a.m. Smoke may be visible in this area for several days.

🔥 RX fire update from The Nature Conservancy round two🔥

TNC and partners plan on completing a second burn in the Greenough area southeast of the Blackfoot River on its Baldy Mountain Forest Reserve (T14N R14W section 34) on May 1. This burn is 67-acres prescribed fire and is adjacent to the 13-acre burn form the day before.

The burn is part of the Blackfoot Valley TREX (prescribed fire training exchange). It is dependent on fuel and weather conditions on site. Ignitions are planned to begin after 10 a.m. Smoke may be visible in this area for several days. Depending on weather and fuel conditions additional burns may occur in subsequent days.

Ignitions are planned to begin after 12 p.m. Smoke may be visible in this area for several days. Depending on weather and fuel conditions additional burns may occur in subsequent days.

The public comment deadline for the Holland Lake Lodge Special Use Permit Issuance Proposal has been extended from May 7 to May 14.
