SEEKING Sponsors, Food Vendors and more Candy Vendors!! Text 731-610-0909 if you are interested in joining us for the “Best Night of the Year”. Join our many sponsors and supporters over the past year at the 14th Annual Halloween Street Party hosted by the McNairy County Chamber and Tourism, Sponsors and Friends of Halloween in downtown Selmer on Friday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 pm.

So far we have the live entertainment with our host Andy Avery, Selmer Police and Fire Departments with Stantonville and Michie Fire Departments joining us again this year. McNairy County Sheriff’s Department with Sheriff Guy Buck and staff, McNairy County 911 and more to join.

731 Ghost Busters, at least five churches and youth groups (specifics later this week), multiple non-profit groups, many candy vendors and downtown merchants and restaurants as well as food vendors (we need a few more).

As usual we will have our Costume Contest with $250 total in prize money! All welcome at this FREE family friendly event. It’s a tradition we all enjoy. Hope to see you all in your best costume for fun and frolic!!!

#2 Adams Extended area damage. Many homes just totally destroyed. Some injuries reported by the thankfully no deaths reported. These folks will all need support to start over. Please register with the American Red Cross 1-800-Ref-Cross at the Selmer Community Center for help and the Ag Event Center.

Spoke to Nicky Robinson today at his home on Adams Extended, Selmer which got hit hard by the April 3 tornado. He was at work when his home was hit. Thankfully his girlfriend and three children who were at home were ok. They took shelter in the bathroom and survived. Many of their neighbors homes were totally destroyed with some injured but no fatalities. I will include some photos in another post to follow. Nicky shared how amazing it has been to see the outpouring of people and neighbors coming together during this tragedy. He feels blessed and this has changed his perspective on life.
