Latham Bee Farm, one of our Grassroots Pioneers, was hard at work today removing a behive from someone's property. If you're interested in beekeping, just curious about the incredible world of bees, or want to find a local honey supplier, plan on attending our homesteader workshop February 21st, 2026 at the Ciry of Semmes, AL Community Center.

At our homesteader workshop, we'll have presentations on general animal husbandry and handling of livestock. We don't have anyone lined up for a lasso presentation, but we're certain this is not how it is supposed to look.

🌱 Why do we call our presenters “Grassroots Pioneers”?

Because every speaker at our Roots Run Deep Homesteader Workshop isn’t just talking about change — they’re out there living it.

These are real people in our community who…

âś… Lead with their hands, not just their words
âś… Share hard-earned knowledge instead of keeping it to themselves
✅ Inspire others simply by doing the work — planting, building, teaching, and helping their neighbors

That’s what a Grassroots Pioneer is — someone who leads change from the ground up and lives the example every day.

đź’¬ Question for you:
Which topic are you most excited to learn from our Grassroots Pioneers at the event?

• farming
• canning
