My parents were born in the 1940s. So, like most photographs during that time, printed pictures of them were only in black and white.
It wasn't until the early 1970s that color photography became prevalent. Therefore, many of the picture albums that I loved to look through when I was a little girl were mostly in black and white.

If he were still on earth, July 13 would have been my dad’s 45th anniversary married to my mom.
While the physical event of his death almost 12 years ago was and is a nightmare that I try not to think about.
I believe spiritually it was a dream come true. My father died a Christian.

It’s easy to attend church, hear a great message, and walk away with a lot of information about God. But here’s the thing: just because you know about Him doesn’t mean you actually know Him.
Since moving to Hattiesburg, my family and I have had the opportunity to meet and support many of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team members this past spring. One name that will probably stand out to many of you is Ozzie Pratt; he’s the older brother of Quince Pratt over at Magnolia Heights.

Senatobia and Coldwater enjoyed an increase in June revenue as the 2025 fiscal year winds down.
Statistics from the Mississippi Department of Revenue show Senatobia with a 3.9% boost in June revenue, while Coldwater’s jumped 5.4% with one month remaining in FY 2025.

Tate County voters in the newly drawn Mississippi Senate District 1 and District 11 will head to the polls Tuesday, Aug. 5, to vote in a Special Party Primary Elections.
This special election is the result of redrawing district line in Tate County following the growth of Northwest Mississippi and the depopulation of the Mississippi Delta.

A plan is in the works to lower home fire protection ratings in the eastern portion of Tate County.
Supervisors discussed the idea of adding satellite fire stations in a pair of rural sections of the county at their recessed meeting Monday, July 21. The plan entails placing a pumper truck at the District 5 maintenance shop on Sycamore Road and another in the Tyro community.

JACKSON – State Auditor Shad White announced in an annual Audit Exceptions Report that his office recovered $905,225.71 in taxpayer funds and returned them to the deserving entities in Fiscal Year 2025.
During Auditor White’s entire time in office, the Office of the State Auditor has sent 83 cases to the Attorney General’s Office so they could litigate to recover misspent money. At present, no action has been taken by the Attorney General on 74 of these cases.
