Okay… who remembers the REAL Black Friday?
Not this cozy “shop at home in your PJs” version we’re all doing now.
I’m talking about the good old days when you had to TRAIN for it. 😂

I was sitting here tonight, full of turkey and carbs, remembering when Thanksgiving ended with a “quick nap” — not because we were tired, but because we had to prepare for battle.

Remember that era?

You’d wake up at 1:00 a.m., hair sticking up on one side, and immediately start reviewing the plan like you were about to storm the beaches of Normandy.

“YOU grab the TV.”
“I’m in charge of the iPad.”
“Aunt Linda, you block the aisle with the buggy.”

We had MAPS.
We had STRATEGY.
We had a full Walmart military operation going.

And Lord forgive us — we acted like the sin of coveting was temporarily suspended for 24 hours. 🤦🏻♀️ “It’s fine, Jesus understands… it’s Black Friday.”

Then there was the moment the doors opened and everyone ran like the last-day-of-school bell just rang. Total chaos. Someone always came back with something no one asked for, the electronics aisle turned into a mosh pit, and somehow you still ended up buying socks.

Fast forward to tonight…

I will absolutely NOT be:
❌ setting an alarm
❌ standing outside Walmart in the cold
❌ elbowing strangers for a TV I don’t even need

No ma’am. Not in this household.
Tonight, I will be sleeping.
And tomorrow, I will be shopping the way God intended:
