What: Assistance with Hispanic Heritage Vendor Applications

History was made today at KFD!

We’ve had several father & son combinations throughout the years but today marks the first time a father & daughter were on duty on KFD.

Captain Will Merritt and Firefighter Holly Merritt along with the rest of the crew are working on A-Shift today.

Holly also works full-time at the City of Walhalla Fire Department and Captain Merritt retired back in 2021 as a Captain at both KFD and the City of Seneca. Captain Merritt still fills in time to time.

Captain Merritt’s son Austin also works at KFD as well as the City of Seneca along wih serving in the SC Army National Guard. Also, Captain Merritt’s dad is a lifetime member of the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department.

Holly, welcome to KFD! Continue to carry on the incredible legacy of public service in your family!
