There's a totality of God that I believe we as "believers" have not discovered yet. God's mercy is so unexplainable that we must be careful not to limit God's concern to one issue or agenda.
God in his grace & mercy was willing to preserve S***m & Gomorrah if Abraham could find at least 10 righteous. A lifestyle so abominable that He would dismiss a lifestyle of many if only 10 righteous would have stood up and stood out.
Well, we know the story, unfortunately, Abraham was not able to locate 10 righteous to preserve this city.
This reminds me of God speaking in Ezekial 22: 26-31 when He was looking for an intercessor to build a hedge and a gap to avoid the wrath that was coming to the people, yet He could not find none.
I see a pattern here...
2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
Question (I hope rhetorical):
1. Who are the "my people" God is referring to?
2. Why did He call their ways "wicked"?
