State Patrol says a Sequim driver turning onto the highway pulled into the path of another vehicle Tuesday afternoon, sending all three occupants to Olympic Medical Center.

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Lodge, bassist and vocalist of the progressive rock band Moody Blues, has passed away at the age of 82.

His death was announced on the Moody Blues’ page, which posted a statement from his family. They revealed that he died "suddenly and unexpectedly," noting he "peacefully slipped away surrounded by his loved-ones and the sounds of The Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly."

"He was never happier than being on stage - he was ‘Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band,'" the statement read, referencing the Moody Blues' 1973 hit, which Lodge wrote.

Today, Sept 15, 1965 - Ford offers factory-installed 8track tape players in its Mustang, Thunderbird and Lincoln models. This marks the first time 8-track players are widely available, so you can only get the tapes in auto parts stores or Ford dealers. The players have a tendency to chew up the tapes, leading to 8-track roadkill as drivers throw the tangled tapes out their windows.
