It might be raining, but the Seward Nebraska 4th of July Celebration is still going on. The rain is going to blow through, and it will be a great day here in Seward. So far - the runners got their race in, the anvil and the howitzer woke up their neighborhoods, the fireworks crew was hard at work getting the show set up, car owners brought their vehicles for the annual show, the NNGM dedicated its USA 250 exhibit, vendors are showing their wares at the craft show - a little rain isn't slowing anyone down. Well, except sunblock salespeople. But they may be needed this afternoon.

🚨The East Hillcrest/Bluff Bridge over Plum Creek will be closed immediately thru Sunday July 5th. Yesterday during the annual inspection items were identified that led to the decision. With the anticipated July 4th traffic, we did not want to risk any issues over the holiday. The City will review the situation again next week with our JEO engineering team. This bridge is planned for a full replacement in the immediate future by NDOT. Please use alternate routes and caution in the area. We apologize for the inconvenience and want everyone to stay safe.
