When the World's Largest Time Capsule, located in Seward, was opened June 26, everyone was anxious to see the state of the 1975 Chevy Vega. Sealed inside the concrete crypt for 50 years, the car sported a little rust on the hood and discoloration on the steering wheel but was otherwise spotless. The car and the Kawasaki motorcycle (seen bottom right) were removed and are at 318 Hillcrest Avenue in Seward.

The World's Largest Time Capsule, buried in 1975, was opened June 26. Items from the capsule will be available to view July 4 starting at 10 a.m. at 318 Hillcrest Drive in Seward, NE.

Memorial Day across Seward County - morning ceremonies were held outdoors, but rain forced the afternoon programs inside. Thank you to all who served, who couldn't go inside when it was cold and rainy, who wore soaking wet uniforms for hours or days on end, who dealt with trench foot and other issues when wet socks and boots couldn't be dried out. Your service and sacrifice is greatly appreciated.
