STATE POLICE- PERU DISTRICT

⚠️ Public Safety Notice – Peru District ⚠️
We are currently receiving multiple calls across the Peru district reporting crashes involving semi-trucks that have rolled over. High winds are creating extremely hazardous conditions, especially for large trucks and other high-profile vehicles.
Please use extra caution when driving near semis. Give them plenty of space, avoid sudden lane changes around them, and be prepared for strong wind gusts that can affect vehicle control.
We have also received multiple reports of power lines down across the district. If you encounter downed power lines, do not approach them and report them immediately. Always assume the lines are energized.
If you do not need to travel, consider delaying your trip until conditions improve.
Your safety and the safety of others on the road is our top priority. Please stay alert and drive safe.
