In the evening hours of Thursday, officers with the Seymour Police Department were in the area of U.S. 50 and U.S. 31 when they saw a silver Ford SUV commit traffic infraction(s), prompting a traffic stop.

INCIDENT RELEASE:

In the evening hours of Thursday, July 10, 2025, officers with the Seymour Police Department were in the area of US-50 and US-31 when they observed a silver Ford SUV commit traffic infraction(s), prompting a traffic stop.

During the course of their traffic stop, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle and its four occupants.

As a result of their probable cause search, officers seized several grams of methamphetamine, fentanyl, syringe(s), ma*****na, paraphernalia, and a large amount of US currency. Additionally, while speaking with one of the passengers, assisting officers witnessed one of the individuals attempt to inconspicuously toss a baggy of suspected methamphetamine onto the ground.

Subsequently, Tressa Wells, age 32 of Seymour, IN, was arrested for Dealing in Methamphetamine, a level 2 felony, Possession of Narcotics, a level 6 felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, Possession of a Syringe, a level 6 felony, Obstruction of Justice, a level 6 felony, Possession of Ma*****na, a class A misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.

Clayton Douglas, age 31 of Seymour, IN, was arrested for Dealing in Methamphetamine, a level 2 felony, Possession of Narcotics, a level 6 felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, Possession of a Syringe, a level 6 felony, Obstruction of Justice, a level 6 felony, Possession of Ma*****na, a class A misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.

Bredon Keys, age 26 of Cincinnati, OH, was arrested for Possession of Narcotics, a level 6 felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, Possession of Ma*****na, a class A misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.

Derrick Jones, age 54 of Cincinnati, OH, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, and Possession of Narcotics, a level 6 felony.

All parties herein depicted or described are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Kevin Cunningham of Westport won the All Star TQ Midget feature race July 4 at the Rush County 4-H Fairgrounds in Rushville. Collin May was second, followed by Hunter Rabourn, Jayden Gorman and Landon Browning.

The Owls had quite an eventful spring with the boys’ golf team, who at one point was sitting with a 27-6 record, eventually sending two golfers to the Washington Regional in Zarik Black and Kirby Tormoehlen, after both qualified individually in the Bloomington Sectional.

Smiles and excitement echoed through the massive gymnasium floor during the past week as the annual Seymour Volleyball Camp took place. 95 campers from third through eighth grade were eager to learn and sharpen their volleyball skills for their upcoming fall volleyball seasons.
