The lovely Elise fabric collection by features a beautiful collection of florals in red, white, blue and a subtle touch of pink. My favorite fabric in this collection is the hexagon print! This collection will take us across all seasons, but is especially timely for the period between Memorial Day to the 4th and July and into Labor Day. A perfect fit for summer decor. This fabric is displayed in my Petal Pop Zinnia pillow pattern and it is fat quarter friendly project that works beautifully with a fabric collection or can also be used in a more monochromatic way to make specific flowers such as a sunflower, poinsettia or daisy. The pattern is available through the link in my profile. The pattern also used the Petal Pop template which works with a total of 7 other Sugar Bee Quilt patterns.

Our Snowball Bush is just bursting with lovely blooms. This is its 4th year at our house. (It was a 3 year old plant when purchased) it just has the best blooms this year. We are in Zone 7B and tomorrow we are expecting snow and another hard freeze. 🥶 wait and see…Such crazy weather where we live.

Day 30, Must Make Quilt. For a very long time this quilt has been on my Must Make Quilt list. The quilt is the Halo Quilt by Jen Kingwell (swipe to see) and it is found in the Jenny From the Block pattern book. I have the pattern and templates. They stand at the ready whenever I decide to jump in. What is your must make quilt in your bucket list?

Day 29: Favorite Finish This is a pattern that I found several years ago in a Simply Modern magazine. I am still so sad they are out of production. My favorite part about this is that it combines wool and cotton, hand stitching and machine quilting. Happy Saturday to you and yours!

Let’s talk texture on Day 28 of Here is a snapshot of one of my favorite textured quilts that I have quilted. As a long arm quilter, I do enjoy when texture steals the show. The secret to that is often solids or low volume fabrics or fabrics with subtle prints. Ironically, I love bold prints and am more of a maximalist, so I rarely custom quilt my own quilts because the awesome fabric has enough going on with adding too much to it. On Day 27 of the Instagram Quilt Fest we are looking at our WIPs or Works in Progress for those that don’t enjoy a good quilting acronym. Of my 379 WIPs this is one I am itching to get back to. Who doesn’t want to see with fabric that has teacups and spoons and even little teabags peeking out of the edge of the cups.
