🎶 Feature Friday: Meet the Band 🎶
This week, we're excited to spotlight the talented David Castle! 🎸
David's love for music began at an early age, inspired by watching his dad play guitar. By the time he was 7 or 8 years old, he was already learning the instrument himself, and by age 9 or 10, he was occasionally playing in church, helping lead congregational singing with simple chord progressions. ⛪🎵
As a young teenager, David became much more serious about music and developing his skills. Some of his earliest performance experiences included playing alongside his dad, uncle, and younger brother at school fall festivals, volunteer fire department fundraisers, and community events. Interestingly, during many of those performances, David played bass guitar rather than guitar.
David has been recording sessions with Chapel Valley since the early 2000s and has been a valued part of countless projects over the years. Having known the Roark family long before becoming a regular session musician, he treasures the friendships and working relationships he has built with the entire Chapel Valley team. ❤️
When asked what he enjoys most about studio work, David points to two things:
The creative process — bringing something new into existence.
The ministry aspect — being part of music that could positively impact someone's life.
His advice to younger musicians is simple but powerful: "Never question whether you have enough talent or ability to learn the instrument you want to play. Hard work, dedication, and persistence are more important than talent."
We are grateful for David's years of dedication, musicianship, and friendship. Thank you, David, for helping make so many Chapel Valley recordings special! 👏
Help us thank David Castle for being an important part of the Chapel Valley family! ❤️
