Made your plans for NYE yet? We’ve got quite a few options in Shawnee this year, and we are loving the variety of creative choices. In downtown, The Guilded Grayland is hosting a game night. Theopolis Social Club is having a Stranger’s Things Retro NYE party. The Ritz of Shawnee is back in business at their downtown location and having a NYE Bash with 5 Metal Bands. Something for everyone and all age ranges within a few blocks!

The Elves have cracked the code and are retiring!
Shop Small Saturday was a big hit when the Oulook Elf discovered he could get everything he needs on Main Street in downtown Shawnee.

We’re starting a series called My Favorite Things, which will launch in the January issue. It will feature great things from all over our community our staff has carefully selected. For Christmas we stopped in a few of the businesses on Main Street. Follow us to see everything David the elf scored!

The Potawatomi Fire delivered their 38th-straight home win Friday against the Enid Outlaws, winning 150-98. The Two-time, consecutive national champs are breaking league records, and their next home game is March 23 at FireLake Arena. We try not to have favorite issues or show bias, but today that all goes out the window. We pulled out last year’s issue with Shawnee’s two-time Super Bowl champ Creed Humphrey, and today we get to watch as he potentially makes NFL history. Go Creed!

Tonight (Thursday June 29th), Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is hosting their summer concert series. Trio Antiqua plays at 6:30. Update: concert moved indoors to avoid the heat. Chairs provided.

Have you visited the beautiful new KidSpace Park yet? The park is FREE to everyone. Some activities require additional equipment, and can be rented and reserved. This weekend, there are free rentals on various equipment. There’s also plenty to do without equipment. Check out the Shawnee Parks and Recreation post here for more information.
