🚧 Road Closure – Wilgus Avenue at the North Taylor Drive Intersection 🚧

Wilgus Avenue at the North Taylor Drive intersection will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, September 15, 2025, through mid-November 2025. This closure is necessary to accommodate infrastructure improvements associated with the intersection reconstruction.

This project will consist of storm sewer improvements, roadway improvements, new ADA compliant crosswalks at the intersection, and new traffic signals. Eastbound Wilgus Avenue will be widened to accommodate a full width right turn lane.

This project will be constructed in two (2) phases.

ℹ️ Phase 1 (Beginning September 15):

▪️ Wilgus Avenue will be closed with no access to North Taylor Drive.
▪️ North Taylor Drive will be reduced to one lane of through traffic in each direction with no access to Wilgus Avenue.

ℹ️ Phase 2 (Beginning mid-October):

▪️ Wilgus Avenue will have access with a right turn to North Taylor Drive only. Through movements will still be prohibited.
▪️ North Taylor Drive will remain open with one through lane in each direction and with right turn access to Wilgus Avenue only. Left turn movements will still be prohibited.

All work and traffic impacts are weather-dependent and subject to change.

Good morning Sheboygan! P1 is planning on conducting races as scheduled today -- weather dependent. Lightning and low visibility will cancel or delay the races, but they will race in the rain. The event at King Park will open again between 11am - 5:30pm. We will post again if there are any changes to the event due to weather.

🚧 Road Closure - South 18th Street (Washington Avenue to Mead Avenue) 🚧

Road construction on South 18th Street between Washington Avenue and Mead Avenue will begin on Thursday, July 10, 2025. The construction includes storm sewer improvements, new crosswalks at the intersections, and concrete panel replacements.

This work will close South 18th Street to through traffic. Access to local residences in the construction area will be accessible at all times, except when paving operations occur adjacent to a driveway.

The South 18th Street construction is scheduled to be completed in late August.

All work and traffic impacts are weather-dependent and subject to change.

The City of Sheboygan understands the inconvenience experienced during road construction and appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to complete this project. Please use caution and slow down in construction zones.
