Gabby Salinas she gave it her all during her tenure. The life of many is better because of your efforts. Looking forward to what God has stored for you.

On Sunday afternoon, I attended the MICAH - Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope press conference regarding the Memphis Task Force.

In my remarks, I spoke about the deep fears within the Hispanic community following recent tragedies — including the killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Texas, and just the next morning, the killing of a father in Maine. These events weigh heavily on families who already live with uncertainty, and they intensify the sense of vulnerability felt across our community.

As someone who is naturally shy, it is never easy to speak publicly. But there are moments in life when your voice carries a responsibility far greater than your comfort.

I am grateful that, during my eleven years in Memphis, I have met so many generous, courageous advocates who never miss a beat when it comes to protecting and uplifting others. Their example reminds me why speaking out matters — especially now.

Please if you can help someone else do it. Organizations like Indivisible Memphis and Vecindarios901 are working tirelessly to build mutual aid.

Hello family, friends and supporters,

Although last night’s results were not what we hoped for, my heart is full. I am deeply grateful for every organization, elected official, community leader, volunteer, and neighbor in District 8 and beyond who stood with us.

This campaign gave us the opportunity to find new friends, build stronger coalitions, and the joy of meeting so many incredible families, and working with wonderful educators and advocates.

Our volunteers especially showed what dedication truly looks like.

The work does not end here. We remain committed to strengthening public education at every level and to supporting new leaders who are ready to serve. The experience and platform we built together will continue to be used for good.

Families resonated with our message on concrete issues, and that momentum matters. We will keep pushing forward:

-Serve the children: stronger nutritional plans and expanded mental‑health supports.

-Pay the teachers: improved parental leave and better health insurance premium costs for MSCS staff.

-Empower parents: real partnership with families as thought partners.

-Protect local control: standing firm against harmful overreach.

This is not the end of our movement — it is the beginning of the next chapter.

We wish the best to Tanya Frey and her family as she is moving to the general election ballot in August. We are ready to support any effort she will bring forward to improve our schools, because it takes all of us to make sure that public schools thrive.

Please stay connected ya'll! There is more work to come to protect our schools and our democracy.

With gratitude to all,

Ayleem Connolly

It was an honor reconnecting with State Rep. Gabby Salinas, a proud District 8 neighbor preparing to vote. Our community is strongest when we show up together.
Make your voice heard — vote Tuesday, May 5th, from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Mi familia Fuerza Democrats Tennessee.

Thank you so much for the support.
