13 years. 4,862 days. Throughout that short period of time Railyn brought love, laughter and joy to those lucky enough to know her. Railyn was so many things- a daughter, sister, friend, a talented artist, an animal lover, and a warrior. For years she bravely battled mental and emotional demons many cannot begin to fathom. Sadly, on Sept. 5, Railyn found peace the only way she thought possible. It is with a heavy heart that I ask you to help Railyn's family with her final expenses. While no one can take away the pain, together we can help ease the financial strain and lay this beautiful young soul to rest. Regardless of circumstance, everyone can help- whether it's simply sharing the link, whispering a prayer, or donating what you can- all are greatly appreciated. Railyn was so much more than the way she died. She died one day. She lived the other 4,861- please remember that 💜

Every year without fail the Shelby Volunteer Fire Department hosts a free 4th of July barbecue for the community. While donations are not required, they are accepted and appreciated. In light of a recent and tragic event the Shelby Fire Chief has stated, "Our 4th of July picnic is coming up on Friday. We will serve from 11 AM to 2 PM. We have decided that all proceeds from the event will be donated to the families of the victims of the shooting in Idaho. We ask the public to support our brothers and their families as we pull together as a community. Firefighting is a brotherhood, and when one department loses someone it is felt throughout the fire service. It is our honor to do something to help a hurting community."

An unimaginable tragedy occurred on Father's Day, the unexpected passing of an incredible mom, wife, friend and member of the Cut Bank community, Rachael Hitchcock. Rachael was a stay-at-home mom, not only dedicated to her husband, Brandon, and her own children, Justice (18), Paycen (8) and Amelia (4), but an entire community of kids. She hosted craft days and other events, volunteered at the pre-school and taught the Mini Movers dance class for kids 4 and under. She was a special light in this world, one filled with love, energy and patience. Trying to accept the reality that this bright light has now gone dark is a struggle for many, even more so for her family. While no one can fill the void left with her passing, there is the opportunity to help alleviate some financial stress by donating to lay this beautiful soul to rest. If you can afford to help, please do, even the smallest donation is appreciated. If you can't, please share the link and keep her family and friends in your prayers.

PUBLIC NOTICE: The Toole County Transportation Committee will meet Wednesday, June 24, at 10 am, in the Toole County Conference Room located on the first floor of the Toole County Courthouse, Room 102. This meeting is open to the public. Transportation information for Toole County is on file and open to inspection by all taxpayers at the county office of the school superintendent.

We are saddened to learn of Ron's passing. He spent many years operating the presses at the Shelby Promoter. His work ethic, sense of humor and kindness made him one of a kind. Sincere condolences to Ron's family and friends, may he rest in peace.

ALERT: THE FIRE HYDRANT TO THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S SOUTH IS LEAKING AGAIN. AS A RESULT, PLEASE DROP OFF AND PICK UP ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ON WESTWOOD AVE (TO THE EAST OF THE ELEMENTARY). ALL AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WILL CANCELED OR MOVED THIS WEEK (2/17-20/2025 / NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY).

A Celebration of Life for Shirley Debois will take place tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at 1 p.m., at the LDS (Mormon) Church (915 Westwood Ave) in Shelby. Our sincere condolences to Shirley's family and many friends.

Latest update- Kendall Danna's body has been recovered. Prayers continue for her family, friends and the many who searched until she was found.

As of right now I'm still working at the office but yes, sadly, after having an office in Shelby for 100 years the current owners are closing it and I will be working from home. No more office, but the email contact will remain the same and a new Promoter cell phone number will be shared once I have it. I will still be attending events, writing articles, taking photos, laying out pages and doing the best I can to represent Shelby and Toole County in the newspaper. Thank you for your support and understanding.
