My precious!!!! There are righteous gemstones in these mountains and we’re heading up to Foggy Mountain Gem Mine to strike our own claim!!! Right after we have a little breakfast at the Sunset Grill… prepare for pimento cheese chicken biscuits and uncut gems!!!

Constructed in 1883, the in was more than just a place to trade goods, it was a community center. It was a gathering place for locals to come together and inform one another of what was happening in their neck of the woods. It’s where a yarn was spun and a chicken was traded and where you took a letter to be mailed off to Santa. The metallic clink of soda cap checkers being kinged, the soft tuning of a banjo, the snort and whinny of a hitched horse… It was a window into the outside world and today it still stands, almost 150 years later, as a window into the past. Pictures of who and when, relics of a time long gone, a pot belly stove long gone cold, all stand the test of time and faith within these old walls.. A collection of memories and snapshots in times of when that help these walls talk!!!

The beautiful but strangely named Trash Can Falls, located in North Carolina near the Tennessee border!!!! I think they named it something off putting in order to deter OUTSIDERZ lol but we turned up anyways…

Such a great 4th of July in Boone NC!!! We eat an awesome breakfast, shop the old local stores and I even get into it with some snipey dems throwing me shade at the parade!!!
