Long post alert….
Tonight marked a full circle moment for my DJ career. 3 years ago I set out with a dream and plan to start a DJ business. I got into this for the love of music and to provide people with an affordable alternative without sacrificing quality. I started as a sound guy for my church but God put it into my heart to start down this DJ path. I got some equipment, started to learn and put myself out there as much as possible to the community. To my surprise they welcomed me with open arms. One of the first events I did was the 2022 Celebration of Lights in Shelbyville. I filled out a vendor application and paid a fee to play for the evening. I was provided the opportunity to play on the newly renovated 6th Street. I was proud and thankful for that opportunity. Last year I just came with my family and walked around. I walked past Stargazer Plaza and said to myself “One day I’m going to DJ at Santa’s Workshop for this event.” A year later in 2025 I got that opportunity. I honestly shed a few tears before, during and even after the event, lol.
I’m thankful for what God continually does in my life. One of my constant prayers is “God I’m going to continue to put my business at your feet and in your hands. Continue to lead me, guide me and I will follow. If you are in it then I want to be part of it, if not let it pass me by.” God has blessed me every step of the way. Each year more and more clients flood in, my skills get better and better and I continue to grow as a DJ and a person. 2025 has been a year of major growth! I have been blessed with opportunities that I could have never imagined. I’ve had the privilege to meet and work with so many new people this year. 2025 has been an amazing year but I look forward to what 2026 has in store! Not just for me personally but professionally. I’m grateful to the community of Shelbyville for their continued support. Thank you to all of my family and friends that support me year after year. Thank you to all the couples, schools, churches, corporations, City of Simpsonville, City of Shelbyville and anyone else that had allowed me to DJ over the last 3 years. Thank you to my wife and kids that are there to support my dream. I have very big goals and plans for my DJ career next year and the years following so stay tuned.
I know with Gods guidance and help, I will be able to achieve them all. “God I continue to put my business at your feet and in your hands. Continue to lead me, guide me and I will follow. If you are in it then I want to be a part of it, if not let it pass me by.” Thank you for all that you do for me Lord!
