Following a day of rest from classes, where many attended meetings and fund raisers, others shopped and still others regrouped and focused on the home stretch that will begin this evening with the Junior Fine Harness World’s Championship at 6:30 p.m. EST. Eight world’s champion of champions titles will be awarded tonight, in addition to the USTA Roadster Classic, Three-Year-Old Five-Gaited Mares, Three-Year-Old Five-Gaited Stallions/Geldings and Three-Year-Old Three-Gaited classes.

Always a highlight on Thursday evening is the World’s Champion Of Champions Senior Saddle Seat Equitation event, as it sets the stage for the fall’s equitation finals.

This year we’ve been looking back 10 and 15 years at the various winners of classes held during the respective sessions. One of the Thursday night championships is for adult gaited pleasure riders. The winner of this championship 10 years ago was also the winner 15 years ago. Grey Ridge’s Michelle Krentz and CH Take A Guess (pictured) wore the roses both years. In 2015, their closest competitors were CH Break On Through with Laura Dozer Elliott, So Swank and Drew Taylor Hewitt, CH Callaway’s Born For This and Janet Sterba, Camille Cowart and CH What’s The Whoopla, Jennie Garlington and CH Pass With Care, Tasha Sandler Dunlop and CH The Cat Walk and Jo Ann Griffin with CH Callaway’s Karla. Yes, you read that correctly! Wow, what a group of horses and riders.
Back in 2010, Krentz and CH Take A Guess won their first blanket of carnations with CH Stonewall’s Stargate and Stefanie Sanchez, CH Titleist Right Tonight and Allyson Ehle, CH Under Oath and Jacque Nance and CH Take It From The Top with Amy Dix Rock, rounding out the Top 5 in that championship.

Hopefully, tonight the water will be just as deep. Afterwards, visit www.saddlehorsereport.com to see just how deep it was.
