I am a big believer in weekly meal planning but sometimes things don’t go according to plan! I have two go-to meals: scrambled eggs with bacon, or grilled cheese with tomato soup.

2005 kid running a 2005 Deere. Awful bouncy but the AC works.

World Milk Day! As if I needed a reason to drink milk… 🤣
Milk plays an important role around the globe as an important part of people’s diet, providing protein and so many other essential nutrients. Plus, it provides meaningful work (thanks!) and is an economic driver in so many communities.

To judge the ventilation, your nose should be where a cow’s nose is. Regardless of your husband’s smart remarks. 😊

Keeping cows as comfortable as possible is top priority. We know that when we take good care of our cows, they take good care of us.

16 grandkids.
In 14 years. (Ages 7-21)
Within 10 miles of our dairy.
Our kids have quite the cousin experience to say the least.
Each one is involved to different extents but they all start mowing lawn as a teenager. Kolton, shown here, is the 7th kid to mow the lawn and thanks to large Minnesota setbacks from the road, there is a LOT of it. Grandpa Dave is going to need to find some cash.

People ask me often how I get it all done. I don’t! Joe does most of the dishes if he is home for supper. Liv makes the 4H meeting agendas and does a hundred other little tasks like that. And Vince — he send me ready-to-go drone videos. Enjoy! (And never believe one person does it all because it is just a normal person with a lot of helpers.)

Ocheda Dairy — so named because of its proximity to Lake Ocheda. While our fields may not be square, level and efficient, but the views while harvesting are beautiful! We harvested way more hay than we had guessed was there, considering the cool start to summer. The heat is here now though! It seems like first cutting the last few years has been scorching hot.

Joe took this photo of me while he was walking up for lunch break during haymaking today. He sent it to me with the text “ #1 of 2026”. I am unsure if he means I am his favorite person this year, or if this is the first harvest meal of the year. Either way, I will take it! Today is a great day.
