The Martin County Star has published it's famous "Summer Events" and this year it is packed with lots of events and fun things to do this summer.

Summer Events is out!!!! :-D

Look for it on business counters all over southern MN and northern IA. If you cant find one, call the office at 507-764-6681 or Cheri at 507-848-6307 and we can let you know where to look. Anywhere with a counter in the downtown areas of your community.

If you want to take a screenshot. here are all the events for your convenience. There is a table of contents this time so look for your favorite event or try a new one you may have never thought of going to.

Fairmont Triathlon/5K is back in 2021 and better than ever! Multiple community groups are partnering together to bring the community out in participation, volunteers, and spectators. Bacon Capital USA, 1590 Kids Just Want to Have Fun, and the Fairmont Aquatic Park are working together to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever. This year the team’s focus is on the Marty’s Youth Triathlon and the new Racin’ for Bacon 5K fun run/walk.
The fun starts on Friday night, June 18th at the Fairmont Aquatic Park with Marty’s Youth Triathlon and the Grand Opening of the Back 9 of our community mini golf course. The event is open to all children ages 5-15 of all skill levels. Marty the pig will be there to cheer on our youth athletes. Families are encouraged to stay after the race and play a round (or two) of mini golf. Food trucks will provide tasty treats as well. The only requirement for participation is a bike and helmet. Preregistration and more details can be found at FairmontTriathlon.org. Day of registration 4-4:30pm at the Aquatic Park.

The fun continues Saturday, June 19th at beautiful Gomsrud park with early registration beginning at 6am. Marty will again make his presence at the Racin’ for Bacon 5K family fun run/walk where bacon treats are sure to be found. Costumes are welcome in the 5K event. Sprint and Olympic, Individual and Team triathlons are being run as well. A food truck will be on site for treats other than bacon. Participants receive a Racin’ for Bacon t-shirt as well as a food truck voucher. Families are encouraged to join the fun, explore Adventure Park, and take in our beautiful lakes after the event!
