CAPITAL PROJECT PRESENTATIONS THIS WEEK
Reminder: Sherburne-Earlville CSD will hold three Capital Project Public Presentations this week.
* Monday, December 1: @ Sherburne Fire Dept., 5:30 p.m.
* Wednesday, December 3: @ Smyrna Town Hall, 5:30 p.m.
* Thursday, December 4: @ Earlville Free Library, 5:30 p.m.
Community members are invited to attend one or more of these public forums, when we will share information on proposed facility improvements such as updates and maintenance of building infrastructure based on the recent building condition survey, and improving indoor air quality with new HVAC systems for safe and comfortable learning environments.
The total cost of the proposed Capital Project, which will have no tax impact, is $32.8 million. Community members can vote from 12:00-8:00 p.m. December 11 in the MS/HS Auditorium Foyer on the following Capital Project proposition:
"Shall the Sherburne-Earlville Central School District Board of Education undertake a project consisting of the reconstruction and renovation of, and the construction of improvements, additions and upgrades to various District buildings and facilities, including the Elementary School Building and campus, Jr./Sr. High School Building and campus, Bus Maintenance Facility and Bus Storage Facility, the purchase of original furnishings, equipment, machinery and apparatus required in connection with the purposes for which such buildings, facilities and sites are used, all to include site, access, lighting, parking, demolition, utility, mechanical, plumbing and electrical improvements as well as payment of professional fees and all other necessary costs incidental to such work (the “Project”) at a total maximum estimated cost of $32,800,000 and to pay for the Project by spending $1,675,000 on deposit in the District’s existing Capital Reserve Fund approved by the voters in May of 2024, and by the levy of a tax which is hereby voted in the amount of $31,125,000, subject to available State aid or to any other revenues available for such purpose, which tax shall be levied and collected in annual installments in such years and in such amounts as may be determined by the Board of Education and in anticipation of the collection of such tax, bonds and notes of the District are hereby authorized to be issued at one time, or from time to time, in the principal amount not to exceed $31,125,000, and a tax is hereby voted to pay the principal and interest on said obligations when due?"
