IT'S SENIOR NIGHT!!

Tonight, the Sheridan Lady Blackhawks welcome the Carroll Cougars to Larry Hobbs Memorial Hall. The girls' season record improved to .500 (8-8) following their win over Tri-Central this past Friday, and they would love to topple their rivals.

Carroll has had a fairly good year, currently sitting at 10-5, and would love to spoil the night for the Blackhawk Seniors.

Tonight, the Sheridan Blackhawks(7-1) square off against conference-rival, the Rossville Hornets(9-1). While still early in the season, the winner of tonight's game will go a long way toward possibly capturing the Hoosier Heartland Conference title.

These teams bring the two best offenses in the conference and two of the best defenses. They both are winning their games by an average of over 20 points! Rossville comes in ranked #7 in the USA Today Poll in 1A. With two high-powered offenses and great defenses to boot, this game is sure to be a great one!

BLACKHAWK HOLIDAY CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP

After defeating Lewis Cass in the Semifinal, the Sheridan Blackhawks advance into the Championship tonight, against the Liberty Christian Lions.

The Hawks have improved to 6-0 on the year, and if they can win the trophy tonight, they would officially tie the best-ever start to a Sheridan High School basketball season. The last time a Sheridan Boys basketball team started a season 7-0 was the 1942-43 season.

Liberty Christian won't make it easy, however. The Lions come in 3-3, and have only lost to 4A opponents this year. Similar to the Hawks, they have an offense that can put up impressive numbers offensively, and come with a stout defense to boot. This truly will be a Championship matchup that you don't want to miss!

BLACKHAWK HOLIDAY CLASSIC

Today, the Sheridan Blackhawks host their holiday tournament for the 2nd straight year. Participants include: Sheridan, Lewis Cass, Liberty Christian, and Benton Central.

Schedule:
Lewis Cass v Sheridan, Noon in Main Gym
Liberty Christian v Benton Central, Noon in Fieldhouse

Winners of Games 1 and 2 play at 5pm in the Main Gym.
Losers of Games 1 and 2 play at 5pm in the Fieldhouse.

Now, to OUR broadcast!

Sheridan is taking on the Lewis Cass Kings for only the second time ever, losing their only matchup back in 2002 in the Sectional. The Hawks come in 5-0 on the year, for the first time since 2012, and have looked good doing it thus far. The Kings are no slouches, though, and the Hawks will need to be at their best if they want to move on to compete in the Championship later this evening.

The Sheridan Blackhawks travel to Frankfort to battle the Hot Dogs. The boys are off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 2012, after trouncing Eastern last night, 80-47.

Meanwhile, Frankfort currently stands at 0-6 on the season, still looking for their first win. They were in a similar spot back in 2023, before beating the Hawks, so the boys will need to be on their best tonight.

IT'S ANOTHER DOUBLEHEADER FRIDAY!!!

Both the Girls and Boys Sheridan Blackhawk basketball teams travel to Greentown tonight to take on the Eastern Comets.

First up, the girls are looking to go above .500 again. In their last outing, the ladies defeated the Tipton Blue Devils to end a two-game skid. This will be the third game for the ladies this week, and they are certainly hoping to head into Christmas on a positive note. The Hawks haven't lost to the Comets since 2019.

Following the girls' matchup, the boys take the floor again! The Hawks are off to their first 3-0 start since 2018. If the boys can win tonight, it would mark the best start to a season since 2012!! The Comets won't make it easy for them, however. This conference matchup always tends to give us a good show!

Tonight, the Sheridan Lady Blackhawks travel to Tipton to take on the Blue Devils. The girls have lost their last two outings and are hoping to jump back into the winning column tonight.

Tipton comes into tonight's game with a 4-4 record and is looking for their first win over the Hawks since 2022. The Lady Hawks will certainly fight to make sure that doesn't happen.

Tonight's girls' basketball game at Tri-West will NOT be streamed, due to the Sheridan Town Council meeting. All other varsity basketball contests this week WILL be streamed, however.

Tomorrow, the girls travel to Tipton, Friday's doubleheader at Eastern(Greentown), and finally the boys' game at Frankfort.

DUE TO STREAMING RESTRICTIONS SET BY FRANKFORT, SATURDAY'S GAME WILL BE AN AUDIO-ONLY BROADCAST. DURING THE GAME, WE WILL HAVE STATS ON-SCREEN FOR YOU TO FOLLOW ALONG.

Going all the way back to the 1993-94 Sheridan Boys Basketball season, the 20 points that were allowed on Friday night are the fewest against the Blackhawks in a game.

I'm sure somewhere I can find records going further back, but for now, the defensive performance on display two days ago was one of the best ever for a Sheridan basketball team!
