The DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) chapter in Elbert County, in conjunction with the American Battlefield Trust, will be the hosts of the American Revolution Experience Traveling Exhibit for one week in December, from Dec. 4 through Dec. 11. The DAR also coordinates Wreaths Across America to honor veterans at cemeteries in Kiowa and Elizabeth, and is seeking help with the project. Former Elizabeth Middle School Dean of Students Leellen Condry has filed a federal lawsuit against the Elizabeth School District, alleging that her rights were violated and she was discriminated against when she was fired after three months on the job as part of “ESD’s mission of silencing Black voices.” However, the district immediately pushed back and said district finances and Condry's failure to take steps toward licensure drove her job termination.
