Douglas County voters rejected the county’s proposed home rule charter Tuesday night, with initial results showing that 71% of ballots cast oppose the measure in the second round of returns. UPDATED: With more than 94,000 ballots returned as of 10:10 p.m., the third round of election results for Douglas County’s special election show that a majority of voters are not in favor of the home rule initiative.

With nearly 90,000 ballots returned as of 9 p.m., the first round of election results for Douglas County’s special election show that voters are not in favor of the home rule initiative.
