Shorewood Students Travel Through CIEE

Greetings Shorewood! We here at Ripples hope everyone has been settling in to the new academic year and are looking forward to a year of excellent living and learning within the community of Shorewood!

With a new school year comes a new volume of Ripples! Issue One, distributed to students yesterday, features the summer experiences of several students who travelled with CIEE. Beautifully complementing the written work by Olivia Poole, junior, comes a video created by Reed Falkner, senior.

Detailing the experiences of Callie Cade, junior, and Will Vuyk, senior, take a few minutes to hear about these students' experience of going abroad and what it means to them.

https://youtu.be/MBwU_7NXGz4

Subscribers, keep an eye out for Issue One, being mailed out tomorrow, and look forward to more digital content as we embark upon the 2017-18 school year.

This year, 13 Shorewood students travelled with CIEE on adventures around the world. We interviewed 2 of them to get a closer look at their trips. Thank you ...

On Tuesday night, May 16, we hosted our first annual Shorewood School District Authentic Learning Showcase in the SHS Arena.

The event was a huge success and collectively we had nearly 500 people in attendance. For the first half of the event, students and teachers from all our schools and across all grade levels showed off their authentic learning projects to parents and community members. For the remainder of the evening, five student groups took to the main stage tell their authentic learning stories.

We look forward to continuing this tradition next year! #ShorewoodProud

Over the past four days, 13 SHS students became diplomats at the 2017 Northwestern Model UN Conference in Evanston, IL!

Representing Cameroon, Finland, Suriname, South Africa, the U.S. Senate, the 1980 I.O.C. and the historical Treaty of Versailles, the delegates discussed issues like climate adaptation, political movements, and intranational conflicts.

It was a perfect hands-on opportunity for our students and they all had a great experience! #ShorewoodProud
