The History of the Ghana Empire.

The Ghana Empire, also known as the Wagadu or Awkar Empire, was a prominent trading empire in West Africa that flourished from roughly the 8th to the 13th century CE. It was situated in what is now southeastern Mauritania, western Mali, and eastern Senegal. The empire's wealth and power were largely derived from its control of the trans-Saharan gold trade, which connected West Africa to North Africa and beyond.
