If you've been skeptical about the G-Unit deal, this one's for you.

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson finalized a $124 million agreement with the state of Louisiana in January 2026 to develop three entertainment venues in downtown Shreveport: a modernized G-Unit Studios campus, a renovated Stageworks facility for live events and production, and a brand new G-Dome immersive venue with green space. The state is backing it with an additional $50 million in performance-based funding. This means G-Unit only gets that money if they deliver.

And as of April 14, the Shreveport City Council introduced two new G-Unit Studios items up for a vote on April 28. This project is actively moving through city government right now. We just have to be patient and try to trust in the vision 50 clearly has.

Shreveport isn't waiting on anyone. Swipe through to see what's in the works for downtown.

Big news for Shreveport... and it's been a long time coming.
The City of Shreveport has officially signed a contract with Amtrak for platform and facility design, marking a major step toward bringing passenger rail service back to the 318. SporTran CEO Dinero Washington confirmed the city is moving forward and was direct about it: "We're building a station."
Two locations are currently being evaluated: SporTran City at 1253 Texas Ave., a newly rehabbed building that already connects multiple modes of transit and will open a food hall this July, or Princess Park on Louisiana Street, the historic site of Union Station. At its peak, Union Station hosted more than 30 passenger trains per day before it was lost to fire in 1969. Only the concrete platforms remain.
The planned route would connect Dallas to Meridian, Mississippi, straight through Shreveport. Washington believes service could come sooner than most expect, and the recent success of the New Orleans-to-Mobile Mardi Gras Amtrak route -which carried over 3,200 riders in its very first week- is helping build the case for north Louisiana.
This is the kind of infrastructure investment that changes a city's trajectory. Shreveport has always had the bones. Now it's getting the momentum to match.
Let us know in the comments if you're ready to ride.

Shreveport Sidequest of the week goes to The ClayGround Louisiana, and we are so fired up about it! It's a pottery painting studio in Shreveport (and Bossier) where you walk in, choose a ceramic piece, paint it however you want, and pick it up after it gets fired. It is the perfect thing to do on a slow weekend, a great date idea, a family activity, a girls day, all of it. The Clayground is exactly the kind of hidden gem that proves there is always something worth discovering in this city. Share this with someone you want to take and go book your spot. You'll be glad you did.
