A legacy that began at Grambling State and continues to shape generations. Doug Williams—a proud G-Man, Grambling State University alumnus, and NFL history maker—will receive the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award this August in Washington, D.C.
Bestowed by the President of the United States, this national honor recognizes individuals who have dedicated more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service in their lifetime. For Doug Williams, those hours have been a masterclass in leading with purpose, mentoring with heart, and serving with vision.
From becoming the first Black quarterback to win a Super Bowl, to championing equity in executive leadership, he has used every platform to create access, expand opportunity, and invest in others.
