Start outside. Refresh mulch to retain moisture and boost curb appeal, trim back overgrowth, and check irrigation coverage so landscaping stays healthy through heat spells. Inspect the roofline for loose shingles and clear gutters after summer storms.

Inside, service the HVAC and replace filters to keep efficiency high during the final stretch of warm days. Test smoke and CO detectors and check for minor leaks under sinks and around appliances—small drips can become costly damage.
