Let it Spin!!

National Vinyl Record Day, celebrated each year on August 12, honors the history, culture, and sound of vinyl records.

It was founded by music enthusiast Gary Freiberg in 2002 to mark the anniversary of Thomas Edison’s invention of the phonograph in 1877. The day is meant to:
• Celebrate music’s role in our lives — especially the warmth and character of vinyl sound.
• Encourage preserving vinyl records as cultural artifacts.
• Promote community and nostalgia through listening parties, record store events, and sharing favorite albums.

For many, it’s both a nod to music history and a way to slow down and enjoy albums the way they were originally experienced — one side at a time.
