Summers Social had a great time helping organize and implement the New Normal Drive In. Thank you to our sponsors Aire Serv of Shreveport and Carr, Riggs & Ingram, Bookkeepers On The Geaux, LLC, and Sci-Port Discovery Center.
Thank you to our partners Shreveport DDA, Retro 521 Coffee, Cafe & Venue, Shreveport Symphony Orchestra, CSC Productions, Robinson Film Center, Apex Communications and Events, LLC, Logan Mansion.
Thank you to our volunteers for their dedication to everything from helping individuals park to sticking down parking stickers.
It takes a village who loves a city to do an event like this in times like these. We hope to see you again soon!
A big shout out this Monday morning to Bonne and Ian Summers of Apex Communications and Events, LLC and Summers Social Ian Summers- who did a FABULOUS job this weekend on all the many logistical hurdles of the The New Normal Drive-In Theater. The event was stellar! Five of six shows were sold out, people had a wonderful time, loads of families and smiling faces. Michael Butterman with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra along with Brett Andrews and Jennifer Carsillo Butterman performed a beautiful piece written especially for the drive-in and led us on a car horn symphony each night! People came with giant sharks on their cars (Jaws), came dressed as space voyagers (Wall-E) and wizards (Harry Potter) and did crazy dances (The Goonies). LOADS of partners helped in the success, from all the volunteers to Retro Down Town Cafe, Abby Singer's Bistro, Sci-Port Discovery Center, Shreveport-Bossier ~ Louisiana's Other Side, Logan Mansion, Sheveport DDA- and sponsors Aire Serv of Shreveport and Carr, Riggs & Ingram of Shreveport. YES, we are talking about doing it again- looking toward a possible weekend of Halloween movies in the fall!
