A stone bungalow from my hometown of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Jeffersonville is on the Ohio River directly across from Louisville, KY, and it is very unique because it has the largest exposed Devonian Period fossil beds in the world! (390 million yrs!) These fossil beds have been protected since the late 1960s, (and are now a state park) but before then people would cut out the stone and use it for the construction of their homes and fireplaces. Upon closer inspection, countless fossils can be seen in the stones. There are several stone bungalows in my area, and I can post more if interested. Please enjoy!
Thank you for sharing Tresa. We love the stone exterior. Our fans would also enjoy more photos if you're willing to share!
