With this antenna, I can get an activation done in about 25 minutes from opening my backpack to closing it at the end. Super fast set up time and break down too.
It's a JPC-12 base and coil with an AliExpress 5.6m whip on top.

Carr Peak SOTA activation was a success. Had the activation on VHF alone with our new "Survivalist" 1/4 wave ground plane antenna for 2m and 70cm. We haven't launched it yet but stay tuned!

The Survivalist 2m/70cm super portable/hoistable 1/4 wave ground plane antenna underwent some testing in the yard today.
I was using my Yaesu FT-5 and as soon as I connected the feed line to the radio, the APRS traffic started to flood in fast and furious from as far as 180 miles! I live in a relatively rural area and we don't get that much APRS traffic. I was hitting repeaters both UHF and VHF at 85 miles. I only hoisted the antenna 10 feet!

Our antennas here at Radioactive Antennas are are inspired by our lifestyle. Kerry and I live in a 40' school bus (Skoolie) named Bussy McBusface. Some of you may have followed our bus adventures on YouTube. Our skoolie isnt just our home. It is our fully off grid bug out vehicle.
From solar power to composting toilet to wild water filtration, we can life fully off grid virtually indefinitely. We are ready for all sorts of disaster. From regional disasters to nuclear war and even EMPs, we are prepared. Commo is a huge part of our preps.
This inspired the overbuilt antenna systems we offer. We asked ourselves, "what antennas would we bring with us if the SHTF?". The antennas we offer are those antennas.

The Mr. big Stick Base is a super rugged vertical antenna base with a quick attachment radial base. I run a 3 wire radial setup with one banana plug. For a more "base of operation setup I would use 6 of those giving me 18 radials on a simple portable! I can run 20m to 2m with this setup adjusting only the length of the whip and the length of my radials.
These are perfect for POTA and SOTA ops but are rugged enough for real world applications. EMMCOM as well as STHF are the reason for this antenna.

New antenna base straight from the shop. My 17' telescopic whip on here and I'm working 6m to 20m with no problems and very low SWR!
Notice the 1/4" aluminum base. It has 6 holes for banana plug counterpoise wires. Game changer!

This is my new antenna creation. It is called Mr. Big Stick. It tunes everything from 6m to 20m. What is unique about this antenna is the base. It has 6 banana plug ports for radial or just a single counterpoise. 599 into Nebraska at the time of this video! This thing, like the TAC-1240 can be set up in under a minute. This is 100% designed for portable use and for speed.

Couldn't post a pic and a video for some reason. The picture was of my Rig Expert AA-35 showing 1.13:1 SWR. This was an initial test. I don't have the coil just right yet. Way too many wraps on this one. It tuned down to 4mhz! Nearly into the 80m band.
