Big news for Evadale and southern Jasper County: a 24/7 ambulance and crew are coming to the Evadale Volunteer Fire Department.
Jasper County Emergency Services District No. 2 commissioners have approved a proposal from Allegiance Ambulance Service to provide around-the-clock emergency medical coverage for the district. Once the contract is finalized, a fully equipped ambulance will be stationed at the Evadale Fire Department 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The dedicated unit will be staffed by a paramedic and an emergency medical technician, giving residents, businesses and travelers along the U.S. Highway 96 corridor faster access to emergency medical care.
This marks the first permanently stationed ambulance dedicated exclusively to Jasper County ESD No. 2.
The new service was made possible through voter-approved sales tax funding, along with existing property tax revenue. It is expected to improve response times, increase safety and bring added peace of mind to families across southern Jasper County.
