TAPI
The TAPI project refers to the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India natural gas pipeline. It is an ambitious transnational infrastructure project aimed at transporting natural gas from Turkmenistan to South Asia, specifically Pakistan and India, while also passing through Afghanistan.
Key Points about the TAPI Project:
1. Length: The pipeline will be approximately 1,814 kilometers long. It starts in Turkmenistan and runs through Afghanistan and Pakistan, finally reaching India.
2. Capacity It is designed to transport around 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.
3. Source: The gas will come from Turkmenistan’s Galkynysh gas field, which is one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world.

- The pipeline begins in Turkmenistan.
- It will cross around 214 km in Turkmenistan, 774 km in Afghanistan, and 826 km in Pakistan before entering India.
