Surrendering the food noise to my Higher Power. 🌊 I don’t have to fight every wave. I can let it rise, let it wash over me, and let it pass. I am learning that peace comes not from controlling every thought, but from releasing what I cannot control and trusting something greater than myself. šŸ¤

Not every thought deserves your trust šŸ˜”.

Fear is loud. Anxiety is convincing. But neither gets to define who I am.

Recovery is teaching me to question the stories I’ve told myself for years—that I’m not enough, that I’ll never change, that I’ll always struggle. Those are thoughts, not facts.
In OA, I’m learning that I don’t have to believe everything I think. I can choose truth over fear, progress over perfection, and hope over self-doubt.
One day at a time. šŸ¤

You can’t carry your old self into a new reality 🫣. Recovery asks us to become willing to let go of what no longer serves us.
As The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Overeaters Anonymous reminds us, ā€œProgress, not perfection.ā€

Every time I release an old fear, an old story, or an old coping behavior, I make room for the person recovery is helping me become. I don’t have to be who I was yesterday to receive the gifts of today šŸ™šŸ½.

You’re not behind, you’re recovering 🄹.

Healing isn’t a race, and recovery doesn’t follow a perfect timeline. Every meeting attended, every honest share, and every day you keep coming back is progress.

Have patience with yourself. As our literature reminds us, recovery is a journey taken one day at a time. Trust the process, stay connected, and keep coming back. šŸŒ±šŸ’™

Abstinence isn’t always a straight line. Sometimes it’s slow, messy, uncomfortable, and longer than we hoped. But every day we stay in the journey, we’re becoming someone stronger than our urges. Don’t rush your recovery — embrace the process, trust the growth, and keep coming back. One day at a time. šŸ’™

I used to tell myself, ā€œI can’t do this.ā€ Can’t stop. Can’t change. Can’t trust myself around food.

But today, I did something different. I didn’t try to be perfect—I just tried. One moment, one choice, one breath at a time. And somehow… that was enough.

Recovery isn’t about never struggling. It’s about showing up anyway. It’s about proving to yourself, gently and consistently, that ā€œI can’tā€ can turn into ā€œmaybe I canā€ā€¦ and eventually, ā€œI did.ā€ If you’re in that space today—where it feels impossible—just try. That effort counts more than you think.

Some seasons ask for growth—others ask for release. 🌿

In my journey with Overeaters Anonymous, I’m learning that surrender isn’t weakness… it’s freedom. Letting go of what no longer serves me—old patterns, false comfort, self-doubt—makes space for healing.

ā€œLet go absolutely.ā€ — OA Literature

Today, I choose trust over control. One day at a time. šŸ’›
