We stumbled into a campground in Coeur dāAlene, Idaho, where things just didnāt sit right. It started with someone yelling at us while we were walking to the bathhouse, followed by another uncomfortable interaction with my husband the next morning.
As a mixed-race family, and knowing some of the areaās history, we decided it was best to trust our instincts and move on.
Thatās part of travel too. Most places and people we meet are incredibly welcoming, but every now and then you find a place that doesnāt feel like the right fit. So you leave, keep exploring, and make room for the experiences that remind you why you love being on the road.
