A rising tide lifts all boats, and we're committed to helping elevate our independent filmmaking community. We create challenging opportunities for underrepresented artists, especially women, in the South. On every Brackish Film, at least half the crew are women and people of color fill above the line leadership positions. Brackish Films are unflinching, empathetic stories that find glory in the mud. With stereotype-defying characters that are both locally true and universally resonant. Brackish water is the murky, estuary water where a river meets the sea.
