Pie Auction 101
The word "auction" conjures up many associations -- art, cars, cows, bachelors, antiques, produce -- but this weekend during the Santa Rosa Valley FALL & Halloween FESTIVAL , there will be an Old Fashion Pie auction!

You can still be part of this "crusty hullabaloo" by contacting Rosemary Allison, the Santa Rosa Valley resident that is spearheading this "Old Fashion Pie Auction" event with the goal of raising money and awareness for the Stepping Stones Riding Program.
Residents of Santa Rosa Valley and a few special elected officials, pie auction virgins in the flesh, offered to bake pies. The bids for the pies will start at a nominal amount and we have hopes that some of the pies will garner $100 or more! Santa Rosa's very own Mark Burley will begin the auction at 3:00 PM, egging people to bid higher and higher. The bidding will start out about $20.00 - $25.00 for each pie - but do not be surprised if we do not get a $100.00 or more from the frenzied bidders!!
The selection ran the gamut, our goal is to total 25 or 30 pies for your selection. It is truly exciting to watch eager eaters bid on the pie of their desire. Pie theater is fascinating stuff, a mix of the culinary and the citizenry, where the palate meets the podium.
