For Gokor Simityan, it started when he was just a toddler — his mother handed him spoons, and suddenly the pots and pans became his first drum set. 🥄🥁

When Paisan asked if his parents recognized something special in those early childhood rhythms, Gokor figured they must have… because one day he came home from school and waiting for him was a brand-new darbuka.

From banging on pots and pans to becoming an incredible Middle Eastern percussionist — sometimes your calling starts with a couple of spoons and parents who are paying attention. ❤️

🎤🇦🇲 “WHO’S EVER HEARD OF ARMENIAN RAP?”

Back in the day, when The Armenian Twins released one of the first rap albums in the Armenian community, they walked into local record stores asking them to play their music — and were practically laughed out of the room.

Then their father stepped in. He believed in his sons, self-produced thousands of tapes, and helped get their music into the hands of the community.

Before long, the tapes SOLD OUT — and the same music nobody wanted to play was suddenly bumping out of cars up and down the boulevard. 🔥

And Paisan, being Paisan, had to ask the obvious question:

“Did you ever want to go back into those record stores and throw it in their face?” 😂
