Doing a bit of prep work on the Bugeye race car this week — swapping out the diff and fixing a few other things before it officially goes up for sale. Also gave a quick tune to the carbs after installing a different set, since I took the originals for my Mini Cooper.

Making progress on the mechanical restoration of the MG TD. Today we completed the install of the new Stainless steel exhaust system and started the carborator rebuild. Ended up having to make a jet centering tool. Lastly, Jen did a great job repairing the hole in the tonneau cover.

What’s new at Morton’s Garage? Well, we got a new project car in: a 1970 Triumph GT6+ that we will be restoring, continued work on the GM TD, and as usual, cleaning up and selling off collected parts.

Let me know if you have something that you need help with. My shop always welcomes visits from friends and customers. Also let me know about any upcoming shows or cars and coffee… any excuse to take the Mini out.

I got frustrated with my garage doors in my shop not connecting to my Wi-Fi last night and decided to blow off some steam by fiddling with my Mini. I removed the Weber carb and installed a big set of SU carbs from my Bugeye race car. I still have a bit of tuning to do, but I like them a lot better. The Weber never ran great on the Mini.

It probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do, as I plan to take the Mini to a British car show in Asheville, NC, on Saturday morning. Hopefully, I can get it all back together and running properly by Friday night. Unfortunately, we have plans tonight, so no garage time.

Making progress to get this beautiful car back on the road after a couple of years of hibernation. All fluids have been changed, and carbs have been adjusted. Now waiting for parts to fix a few things.

More car related stuff from our travels. Visited the Shelby American Museum in Boulder Colorado. All real Shelby cars, no replicas. One of the original GT40s was appraised at $36,000,000. They also had a 2025 Ford Mustang GTD that was $400,000 when ordered.

Stopped by Rocky Mountain Caterham today in Golden Colorado and had a nice cat with Josh the owner. Cool cars and made a new friend.
