Peninsula Players Theatre, America’s oldest professional resident summer theatre, opens the fifth and final show of its 90th season with Robert Harling’s “Steel Magnolias,” a hilarious celebration of friendship, heartaches, and hairdos! This beloved and moving comedy runs from September 3 through October 19. Performances are Tuesdays through Sundays at 7:00 p.m., except on Sundays, September 14, 28, October 5, and 19 at 2:00 p.m.

Concluding its 2025 summer season, Midsummer’s Music presents one of the five greatest piano quintets ever written: César Franck’s monumental Piano Quintet. Dramatic, impassioned, and harmonically rich, Franck’s quintet remains a cornerstone of the genre. The piece premiered with Saint-Saëns himself at the piano, and Midsummer’s is thrilled to feature virtuosa pianist Jeannie Yu performing one of her favorite works.

The Peninsula Music Festival (PMF) invites audiences to experience a night like no other on Tuesday, August 19, with Percussion Party—a thrilling and transformative evening featuring internationally acclaimed, GRAMMY Award-winning percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie. Conducted by Rune Bergmann, the Festival’s Music Director and Conductor, this extraordinary program promises to dazzle with its artistry, energy, and emotional depth.

Profoundly deaf since the age of eight, Glennie has become a revolutionary force in music, using her entire body to interpret sound and redefining how it is experienced. With two GRAMMY Awards, over 40 solo recordings, and more than 200 commissioned works to her name, she has collaborated with an astonishing range of artists and delivered landmark performances, including the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.

In August, every single dollar donated to the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) will be tripled by a generous group of donors. This is WHS’s largest campaign of the year, and couldn’t come at a better time. Summer is peak intake season at WHS, and many animals in the community are in urgent need of shelter, medical care, behavioral support, and a new family to cherish them. Today alone, WHS has more than 1,400 animals in care.
