Ok here is today’s special. Stick with me for the story lol. It is a chili tot dog. I have only done this one time before and here you will see why. 2 years ago I was heading to Florida and came into Captains to quickly put together a special before I left. I was rushing around per usual and decided to make a little video for it, which I did in no time and then I was off and flying for a much needed vaca. Got there lickity split not a care in the world, and went for a run in the beautiful warm weather. As I’m running my phone started blowing up lol. For some reason this was the video that went viral. I was literally in disbelief it was just crazy. And it was not at all good lol. It got so much hate. For what… a chili dog video?! Funny thing is it was actually quite the popular special locally and my regulars loved it. Anyway, the video got like over 2 million views or something like that and more comments that I could keep up with or even that I wanted to keep up because whew people were mean. They were downright nasty. It was definitely a learning and growing experience for me in the world of social media, and honestly it has taken me 2 years to be able to look back and laugh at it all. And hey, I did make good money from FB from the interactions and the reactions whether they were positive or negative, so I guess there’s that. So hang tight for that video. I’m definitely posting it again. I’m not a glutton for punishment. I’m just a little stronger than I used to be. Have a great Friday everyone. But especially to my supporters. Your kindness and love means more to me than you even know. After all… I’m just a girl.😘🥰

I have a new unique special for you today. This one comes out of the treasured family recipe book of my mother-in-law from the beautiful state of Montana! Ham balls. Good morning! I have a special breakfast special just for you today! Growing up, this was one of my all time favorite breakfast meals my mom and dad would cook for me and my 5 siblings. A split toasted Thomas English muffin stuffed with a thick cut slice of ham, a runny egg and melted American cheese served w golden fried hash browns. Making this for you brought back all the feels of Sundays as a youth playing with my sisters and brothers. A time that seemed simpler, kinder, and safer. I hope this breakfast brings a little of that warmth to your morning. Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend with your family.❤️

My parents made it out from the east coast for the holiday! I hope you and yours had the best Thanksgiving—full of good food, lots of laughs, and sweet memories. Our Story

Captain’s Corner is located in Paradise right next to Smithville Lake. We have so much to offer including great food, ice cream, gas, live bait, ice, and your overall general needs in our store section. We are known for our amazing cheeseburgers in Paradise! Paradise MO, first established as Gosneyville in 1832, was soon renamed Paradise, as it was said to be “as near to the real paradise as some people will ever get”. The original Paradise General Store was opened in 1926 across the street from us, by Ep Griffin. 1n 1983 Clyde and Jennifer Holdsworth reopened the general store and in 2004 built this current building and moved it over here. The original building still remains across the street, and operates as an event venue. There have been several additions and a few changes over the years here, however, it continues the tradition of being the place where people gather to sit and talk, a neighbor is a friend, and even if you are alone, you will never ben lonely in Paradise.

We are Seth and Katherine Wald, and we own and operate Captains Corner, together w our 4 children (2 sets of twins) Tristan, Sidney, Helaina, and Izabelle. We are also grateful for our 2 year round full time employees, and the handful of local kids as our summer help. We love this business and the people who come through our doors. We hope that you enjoy your meal and time here in Paradise and we are so glad that you stopped in.
